Perris is a progressive little city or town of over 70,000 peoples that is literally surrounded by tall rocky mountains Y’all. Home to the city’s main attraction lake perris which is not natural at all was created and opened in 1973. An artificial reef for those fishes is situated at the bottom of the lake made up of car tires.

D street Perris’s up and coming main st or downtown district where you can walk down the semi active corridor and enjoy faint scents of baked goods from La Playita Bakery Inc.

The Southern Hotel Museum where history of the small town is learned by visitors of all walks of life. Fun Fact a lawyer who worked inside this great museum is known at fixing wreaked vehicles according to the locals. The museum has a lovely courtyard with a tree in the center the roses give off a heavenly scent BTW.

Downtown Urban Developments

The downtown district is slowly but surely getting dense urban retail, and housing developments like The Parris station apartments a transit oriented development located next to a Metrolink commuter rail line/station.

I wanted to ride the metrolink perris commuter line to do a photoshoot of this town however there is no weekend service. So I took the train from union station to san bernardino downtown with a discount fare of 5 dollars then take omntrans #215 to riverside ca, rta bus # 22 to perris transit center for a total of $10 in fare fees.

Suburban sprawl is no stranger in regards to this town that is surrounded by vast say it with me now WIDE OPEN SPACES.

Example a new Food 4 Less grocery store is currently under construction north of Perris blvd.

A large vancant lot located between Orange ave and a Walmart Supercenter on N of perris blvd. My opinion is that a future mixed used affordable apartments adjacent to this corridor, vast recreational park located behind the potential development with a large lake in the middle, pathways or trails from perris blvd to the freeway, restrooms, water efficient plants and trees can be built on these lands in the distant future.
