Day 1
In the wee hours of the morning I sat in a cheap walmart chair plotting out my day of travel. The spiritual journey from the bay area to san diego is now in full motion.
The sun was rising in the calm beautiful sky. Getting my good vibes on in smalltown Fairfield. Al Jarreau (RIH) was on my morning playlist that time. 5:45 am My lyft driver Leonard, a nice driver, helps me with my luggage into the car and off we go. 8:00 am here I am in The big city of San Francisco via Salesforce Transit Center. My bus to Los Angeles/San Diego was not due to depart at least by 12 pm. I took a little tour of this brand new transit/park facility.
That somewhat cloudy morning pedestrian activity was quite lacking due to the Cv 19 situation. Just enough peace, and quiet time to my thoughts. That day was also payday to my account so I can put my vacation into motion like paying for a week’s stay at a historical hostel in the Gaslamp district.
10:30 am comes around and I prepare to depart the transit facility to the Flixbus pick up zone across the big city. Downtown San Francisco is now showing me its true colors. On market st I wait in vain at a bus stop. Bus after bus passed me by livid I was anxious panic setting in my conscience. Will I make it to the pick up zone to get to Los Angeles ?
The answer to that question my folks is an outstanding YES. 12 pm comes around the charter bus arrives on schedule. Thus my highway journey begins. While sitting comfortably in my black seat. I check my account, still no payment AHHHHHHHHH I scream in my mind, stress slowly comes over me in WAVES. So I call Social Security to figure out what’s going on. They tell me something that I did not want to hear. I may not get paid that day but on friday. Okay but I think to myself however I need a place to stay while in San Diego like right now.

Next I put on my thinking cap and ask some of my relatives to help me out in this stressful situation. So after all was said and done my payment was deposited into my account at 1:30 pm not the usual time of 9:35 am. I jumped for joy let out a loud scream only in my mind of course. I was on a somewhat crowded bus at the time and did not want to cause any trouble. The point is that patience is always a virtue folks. Stay tuned for pt 2 on my San Diego journey until next time.

Day 2

Success I was able to check in to the historical Gaslamp Hostel at 3 pm . Although I did not need to show the clerk my proof of ongoing travel via Greyhound Bus it was necessary to have on my person. The main drawback however was the hostel had no elevators at all due to the building being built in the 1800’s but it does provide a good leg workout everyday, the wifi was weak in the bedrooms. The weird thing was the synchronicities I was having like the room number was 8 in the spiritual sense means having balance in my life.

Next up was getting me something to eat. Carnitas Snack Shack located off of N Harbor dr, and D st. According to the oceanside restaurant website. Established in 2011, Carnitas’ Snack Shack is San Diego’s original pork house offering a wide variety of indulgent food, local craft beer, and specialty cocktails. Situated on the Embarcadero waterfront, the “Snack Shack,” as we are affectionately called, offers thoughtfully-sourced, pork-centric American cuisine to complement our panoramic views of the San Diego harbor.
In addition to the waterfront location, Carnitas’ Snack Shack is proud to have expanded into San Diego’s iconic Petco Park, where we have two locations in left field.
I ordered the Mahi Mahi grilled fish tacos with AVOCADO CREAM, RADISH, SERRANO CHILES, RED CABBAGE, GUACAMOLE, PICO DE GALLO. Overall the flavor was somewhat bland lacking seasonings and maybe some lime, or lemon juice. My rating is about 5 out of 10 tacos. Plus while I was eating a random beetle flew onto the table. I managed to take a close up photo of the insect before relocating to a different table. Until next time from Rw’s Random Life.
